The Role of Parents in the Sociability of Children According to Quran

Abstract

Children’s sociability is considered as one of the important issues in the discussions of educational sciences and sociology, and among different factors, the parents' role is of great importance as the first and the most important factor. Children establish their first social relationships through their families. Children learn social and moral norms and values from their parents and imitate them. The present study investigates the role of parents in children’s sociability according to the verses of the Holy Quran and some narrations as an interpretation of those verses with the library and descriptive research methods. The findings of this study showed that learning social conventions and skills, enhancing intellectual communication, the cultural role of parents, economic education, creating discipline and complying with regulations in social life, glorification of children, preparing the essentialities of their marriage, and their physical education are the main areas where parents play their role in children's sociability.
