Re-examining the Possibility of Rejecting the Sun in Surah Saad According to Allameh Tabatabai

Abstract

It is stated in Surah "Saad" that Sulayman (AS) neglected the remembrance of God (evening prayer) due to visiting a number of horses, so he said: "Rodduha Alaia". In explaining the reference of the pronoun in " رُدّوها علیَّ Rodduha Alaia" as well as the sentence " تَوارَت بالحجاب Tawarat bi al hijab", two theories of the return of "the sun" or "horses" are mentioned; However, there are serious problems in both statements. This paper, with an emphasis on the views of Allameh Tabatabai and by re-examining the interpretations of the two main Islamic sects and with analytical method using authentic interpretative sources with an aim of disambiguation of the reference of the pronoun has come to a new hypothesis that although the correct view is the "return of the sun", but what is meant is not the return of the sun in the opposite direction, but its meaning is "the movement and transfer of Sulayman (AS)" to the west.
