Abstract

The Holy Qur'an is the book of guidance, and by referring to it, a person can achieve its guiding goals. However, since the Holy Qur'an has left the details to the Prophet (PBUH), it is essential to refer to his Hadiths for a deeper understanding of the Qur'an. Due to the infinite depth of the Qur'an, the Prophet (PBUH) could not explain all of its verses with all their meanings. Therefore, he deemed it necessary to provide another source for future generations alongside the Qur'an, such that it could be used for guidance. Based on this, according to the Hadith of Thaqalayn, the Prophet (PBUH) introduced the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) as the explainers of the Qur'an. Among the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.), Imam Ali (A.S.) holds a special place, and the Prophet (PBUH) identified him as the most knowledgeable of the companions in religious matters, alongside the Qur'an. The elders of the companions also acknowledge this. Thus, by referring to narrations and exegeses, one can learn his Qur'anic and interpretive teachings and, by understanding his interpretive status, benefit from his guidance. One of the major categories of the Qur'anic verses and the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) relates to educational matters, and one of the objectives of his successors was to elevate society to higher moral levels. Imam Ali (A.S.) occasionally fulfilled this role by interpreting the educational verses. In this article, based on a descriptive-analytical method, examples such as reminding people that their actions return to themselves, loving for the sake of God, the characteristics of God's friends, and striving to interpret others' bad actions in a better light are discussed, with emphasis on al-Bahrani’s Alburhan. The research findings suggest that knowledge of religious matters, especially those related to educational issues, played a significant role in the guidance provided by Imam Ali (A.S.).
