Re-examining the opinions of Master Marafet and Seyyed Qutb with the approach of Quran and social reality

Abstract

Social interpretation is one of the most important and influential interpretation trends in the contemporary period. The focal point of this trend is the transformation of commentators' thoughts from an individual perspective to a social approach. The approach in social interpretation is to provide solutions to cure the material and spiritual pains of the society from the verses of the Quran. The comprehensive interpretation of the late Professor Marafet's work includes various topics of human sciences, including social issues under the title "Societal Debates". As Sayyid Qutb's comments in the interpretation of some verses include his social affairs. The aim of this research is to find the common and different points of social views between the professor and the late Seyyed Qutb. The findings of this research with the descriptive-analytical method along with the in-text method, are focused on the important fact that the correlation and intellectual similarity between the professor and Seyyed Qutb can be seen. At the same time, different points can be found between the two of them, which goes back to the way of thinking of both of them, in the interpretation of the social verses of the Qur'an.
