Abstract

In the contemporary era, we are witnessing the emergence of various meditation trends in the Islamic world, especially in Iran, with a particular focus on meditation in the Holy Quran. Among these movements is the Tadabbur Cultural Institute of Tadabbur in the Quran and Sacred History of Mashhad, which continues its activities to promote Quranic culture under the leadership of Hojjat al-Islam Elohizadeh and the management of Hojjat al-Islam Mahdi Maggi. In this study, we seek to investigate this movement and discuss its possible strengths and weaknesses. The research methodology at the information collection stage includes library research, surveys, and field interviews, while the critique and review stage employs a descriptive-analytical approach. According to our investigations, the most important strengths of this movement are its attention to the course and direction of guidance in the surahs, its focus on training teachers in the field of contemplation, its international activities, and its emphasis on integrating the Quran with daily life. On the other hand, the main potential drawbacks of this trend include avoiding interpretation under the guise of contemplation, weaknesses in applying contemplation topics, and differing intellectual foundations among instructors.
