Abstract

The present study, titled "Critical Application of the Interpretative Principles of Arushi al-Hawazi (Analysis of the 'Current of Akhbarism' and 'The Certainty of the Transmission of the Narrations of the Four Books'), is based on description and analysis. Arushi al-Hawazi presents an interpretation of Nur al-Thaqalayn, drawing on the narrations of the Infallibles (AS). In his interpretation of Nur al-Thaqalayn, due to the influence of the akhbarism tendency, Huwazi limited himself to narrating narrations without evaluating them. As a result, weak and unreliable hadiths were also included. The core issues discussed in this article regarding the interpretation of Nur al-Thaqalayn are rooted in two factors: "Current of Akhbarism" and "Belief in the Certainty of the Transmission of the Narrations of the Four Books." The problems caused by the Akhbarism idea include the "lack of authenticity of the Quranic phenomena" and the 'monopoly of Quranic knowledge by the Infallibles (AS).' The issues related to the "belief in the certainty of transmission of the narrations of the four books" in the interpretation of Nur al-Thaqalayn are based on the fact that the authors of the four books relied on highly reliable sources, making their narrations definitive. However, firstly, the certainty of each individual is only valid for that person; secondly, prominent scholars such as Kulayni, Sheikh Saduq, and Sheikh Tusi did not always consider the narrations in the "Fundamentals of the Four Months" to be definite. They sometimes questioned the authenticity of the narrations they recorded. Therefore, some examples are quoted and critiqued during this examination.
